ATEC – Academia de Formação Volkswagen Education and science

The Training Academy, created in December 2003, is the outcome of a project conceived by the promoters Volkswagen Autoeuropa, Siemens, Bosch and the German-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the support of the Portuguese Government, aiming at providing Portugal with a training structure that would meet the needs of the industrial clusters in terms of staff training and qualification. The promoter companies established the guidelines for ATEC: expand practice-oriented training; training according to German standards (Dual System); knowledge transfer and sharing; qualify for the market; strengthen industry, especially the automotive and electronics clusters. 

Corporate Volunteering with Junior Achievement Volkswagen Voluntary work

Volkswagen Autoeuropa launched a corporate volunteering program in partnership with Junior Achievement Portugal to provide competence development and social engagement for its employees through the work with the education community, providing young people from primary school to university experiences by means of education programs for entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy.

Volkswagen Run on Factory Premises Volkswagen Sports

Humanitária Solidária – Philharmonic Band of Casa do Gaiato de Setúbal Volkswagen Education and science

In 2011 through a partnership between Sociedade Filarmónica Humanitária de Palmela and Casa do Gaiato de Setúbal is created the project Humanitária Solidária. The project is meant to grant access to a structured musical education for the young boys of the institution, in order to enrich their cultural, social and individual development. Volkswagen Autoeuropa joins to support this project, not only through donations, but also through providing opportunities for the young musicians to develop their competence by performing in corporate events but also in attending special educational programs designed in partnership with other cultural institutions.

Loja do Rouxinol Volkswagen Voluntary work

Loja do Rouxinol is the result of a corporate volunteer project which aimed to create a social store and rehabilitate three rooms from the kindergarten and outdoor facilities. The volunteers worked in a teambuilding format to develop the following tasks: painting, furniture assembly and recovery, outdoor facilities cleaning, donations triage to supply the new social store.

The new social store, Loja do Rouxinol, which belongs to the social institution and kindergarten, receives the donations from clothes, toys and nursery equipment to be delivered or sold with affordable prices to families at risk. This social store model allows the improvement of the social responsiveness for the local community and contributes for the financial sustainability of the institution.

Support for Civil Protection Volkswagen Regional support

The itinerant vehicle of the Civil Protection Academy aims is an innovative project in the country which aims to engage actively the civil society in the development of a sustainable safety culture based on the cooperation between citizens and public and private institutions.
